Smt. Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh

Mentor, PTVAIM’s Centre of Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Smt. Dr. Snehalata Shamrao Deshmukh  was the Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai from 1995–2000. She was dean of the Sion hospital. She is an eminent paediatric surgeon in India. She was a pioneer and one of the founders of the neo-natal department of KEM Hospital. Dr Snehlata Deshmukh is also a co-opted member of Governing Council at the prestigious Tata Memorial Centre, a grant in aid institution under the Administrative control of Department of Atomic Energy, GOI.
Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh is esteemed Mentor at COEI. She is the source of inspiration for all of us at COEI

Smt. Sukruta Pethe, In-charge COEI, (M.Sc. B.Ed. - Mathematics and Science.)

Smt. Sukruta Pethe is a versatile but modest individual with a diverse range of skills and experiences. With a strong educational background and a passion for teaching, She completed her schooling at Sou. Vimalabai Garware High School in Pune, followed by her Higher Secondary at S. P. College. She then pursued a B.Sc. in Electronics from Abasaheb Garware College and later shifted her career to physics by completing an M.Sc. in the subject from the Department of Physics, University of Pune.

At the beginning of her career, she has worked in various Schools and institutes, gaining valuable teaching experience and hence worked with different people.
Smt. Sukruta is working as an Assistant Professor in Physics in Sathaye College for over two decades since 2002.
She has taught a wide range of physics subjects to undergraduate students, taking on responsibilities such as Physics Practical Inchargeship, departmental library management, Scientists’ information display, industrial visits and other Physics related activities like science exhibition, Science and technology based treasure hunt, Column for Physics in Everyday life namely ‘Café Weekly’. She initiated an outreach activity namely Sciphy in which undergraduate students demonstrate various experiments to School Children from the vicinity schools. She was invited for Marathi Vyakhyanmala by Phatak Granthalaya if Tilak Mandir to give a speech on “Fractals, Chaos and Synchronisation.”
In addition to her teaching role, she has been actively involved in co and extra curricular activities, such as music association, examination committee and many others. She took initiative in establishing Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Sathaye College.
She has also made significant contributions to her community, particularly in the area of waste management, and her Residential Society has been recognized for her efforts through awards and accolades. She and her friend have visited and guided more than 50 residential societies, institutes and attended more than 2500 visitors to their Society’ Zero Garbage Project.
She works in the editorial boards of a 23 year old Marathi Periodical (which is privately circulated).
She founded Dholpathak of more than 75 participants and performed for 6 years.
Creative writing in Marathi is her passion. She has written various articles, Science Fictions, written, directed and performed skits for cultural programmes.
